It was one of the best shows I’ve experienced.</p> <p>The New York Dolls, Poison, Motley Crue. Are you kidding me? My friend Geoffrey said it best when he said, “It’s my 10 year old dream come true.” </p> <p>There were so many awesome moments that night: my friend Don sneaking a bottle of Cazadores in the bottom of a French baguette, Cee Lo Green joining the Crue for “Same Old Situation”, security trying to get a topless fan riding high on her boyfriends shoulders to put her shirt back on and this…Tommy Lee’s dubstep, pentagram, roller coaster drum solo with a fan strapped to him. We arrived and ate breakfast. Then, Gary Regan led us in a meditation…I definitely was not anticipating meditating at the mixology course. (My co-worker leaned over to me and whispered, “You ever notice how these older celebrity bartenders have mad charm?” They really do. Must be due to a life spent in one of the most fun industries in the world.) It was cool. My previous band, <a title="Bang Sugar Bang MySpace" target="_blank" href="http://www.myspace.com/bangsugarbang">Bang Sugar Bang</a>, toured with them years ago.</p> <p>It was emotional seeing the guys. They were a part of the best time of my life. It was a time wrapped in the sore memory of my marriage, the high point of my last band, the intense kinship with my drummer; a friendship that is now lost in a sea of bad decisions (on both of our parts).  </p> <p>The most overwhelming emotion I felt, however, was gratitude; gratitude for the generosity they showed me and my band when we toured together. I almost wept tears of appreciation as I watched the band. If it weren’t for the tough looking fourteen year olds fist pumping next to me I might have had the guts to show how I was really feeling.</p> <p>The Adicts are old pros. They’ve seen and done it all. We shared their tour bus (I was the only girl on the bus, by the way…twelve smelly men (The Adicts, my band, their road crew, etc.) and me!). They repeatedly introduced us so the audiences would know we had their endorsement. They shared stories and music and beer with us. They taught us about video game football (read: soccer), how to deal with skinheads (best quote from Jimmy a member of their “Bastard Road Crew”. He said, “Skinheads…more hair than brains, really.”) and how to steal a PA in Switzerland.</p> <p>They didn’t have to be awesome to us, but they were. These guys will forever live in my heart as the ultimate road mates. I could write a book about my time with them. Perhaps one day I will.
